Template talk:Wiki Editor

This template sends a private message to Barry Barnitz if you want to become an editor and to Ducks if you have a change you want to see. Who is Ducks? What does he or she do with those messages?

Would it make more sense to open up the wiki sub-forum to all comers, and make the notify button link to the new post of the sub-forum? Or should we ask Alex for a new wiki sub-forum, separate from the one for administering the forum.

The current link for error notification proceeds from this conversation.
As an alternative, we could make the error notification link go a reply link to the Suggestions for the Wiki Sticky pagein the Reference Library and Wiki forum. --Blbarnitz 21:18, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I very much like changing the private message to Ducks to instead be a new post on the Wiki sticky thread. That way, I and anyone else who is interested can just subscribe to that thread and get notified of new posts. Let's wait another day for contrary opinion, and then I'll update. (Isn't it great to just be able to update on the Wiki Editor template and have every page on the wiki change accordingly?) --Dan Kohn 21:40, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to the parser functions! Great idea of linking to a new post. As to which thread, I second the vote for the Suggestions for the Wiki Sticky page thread. First, it's in the Reference Library and Wiki forum. This forum is the natural place where one would go looking for wiki information. A reason not to use the wiki sub-forum mentioned in that conversation is explained in some comments further down the thread. LadyGeek 00:32, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
