Template:New wiki pages
This template creates a special-purpose form of navigation template, used for listing a set of newly created wiki pages.
Usage
Invoke with
{{New wiki pages| FY=...| Page list=...[| state = ...][| article = yes/no]}}
Parameters may also be supplied by position, in the order shown above. FY indicates the fiscal year, for example 2011 - 2012
, and should be supplied, but if not supplied it is left blank. The value of state is passed to the underlying {{Navbox}}; it is optional, and if not supplied its default value is collapsed
. The optional article parameter forces a given style (see below for more).
Page list is required, and is typically a numbered list, prefixed by an indication of the date range.
Example
Using:
{{New wiki pages | FY = 2011 - 2012 | state = uncollapsed | Page list = '''Wiki page creation (May 9, 2011 - May 9, 2012)''' # [[Government agency bonds]] (May 12, 2011) # [[Fannie Mae]] (May 13, 2011) }}
Results in:
Special case when transcluded from "new pages" articles
As a special case, if this template is transcluded from an article whose page name indicates that it is a simple list of new wiki pages, the template renders the page list as plain article text, rather than inside a {{Navbox}}. This allows articles that list new pages to display lists as normal page text. (In this case, any state parameter is ignored.)
For this to occur, the value of {{PAGENAME}}
must match the pattern ^ *%d%d%d%d *[-] *%d%d%d%d +new +pages *$
. Where there is a match, the example above results in:
Wiki page creation (May 9, 2011 - May 9, 2012)
|
For a working instance, see: 2022 - 2023 new pages.
There is also a test page for this template, to ensure that transclusion from pages that do not meet this special case generates {{Navbox}} lists, as expected. See: Bogleheads:New wiki pages test.
If the article parameter is supplied, it overrides this behavior. If yes
, the template always uses this plain article text format, regardless of the page name. If no
, it always generates a {{Navbox}}.
