Please note that the shifting of this page from 401(k) to 401(k) in the title disables the link in the footer when using it in forum posts. The page should be reverted back to the original form, as a parenthesis in a title disables forum links --Blbarnitz 20:41, 22 August 2011 (EDT)

The forum software update (phpBB) will fix this problem. I don't have a date for the next update opportunity. Agreed, the cleanest fix is to move the page back and let the wiki create a redirect page. Then, leave things be until after the server update is complete. I moved the page back. (The alternative is to customize the footer, but that's not good coding practice.)

Note that linking from the sidebar and other pages say "(Redirected from Setting up a 401(k) plan)" under the title. This is the redirect at work. We'll keep it until the forum software is fixed, at which point we can rename the page correctly and delete the redirect(s). --LadyGeek 21:04, 22 August 2011 (EDT)

The article would be more helpful if it listed record keeping providers and TPA's that provided services for the $30 per year per participant benchmark listed. Currently, as of 6/1/14, Vanguard charges $99 per year for record keeping services per participant and provides a 9 basis point credit against that for using "Investor" share classes over "Admiral" share classes in a start-up plan. This is nowhere near the quoted target of $30. As the sponsor of a start-up plan, we have been unable get to that cost target using essentially the method described in the article. We have actually been able to get Vanguard Index Fund Admiral Shares as the primary investment option in the plan at a lower overall cost using a record keeper other than Vanguard.

Any thoughts?

Recommendations would imply endorsement by this website and therefore are not appropriate for the wiki. It's better to ask in the forum for advice. --LadyGeek 19:01, 11 July 2014 (CDT)
