Adding an event
Any editor can add an event. To create a new "date" event, see {{Anniversary}}. Here are a few guidelines and suggestions:
- Add events that are relevant to the history of finance; for example:
- Birth dates of important people
- Enactments of key legislation establishing financial institutions and financial instruments
- Important events, such as major market events, the creation of indexes, the creation of investment products, the creation of account structures (retirement plans)
- Don’t forget events outside the US
- Add as many events to a particular day as you like
- Briefly summarize the event:
- About 15–25 words
- Use the past tense
- Include a credible source
- Use consistent formatting:
- Note the formatting of existing entries, especially in terms of punctuation.
