Rick
Thanks for another great interview, your guest had great research examples and stories to share.
Here are four takeaways I found of interest, but there were many more in the podcast!
I appreciated Dr Crosby’s explanation of how our brains are wired from our hunter gatherer past when getting through the winter with an adequate food supply was long term thinking, may not serve us well in planning ahead for decades.
I also appreciated the line comparison study example, and how what used to be thought of as erroneous conclusion impact of peer pressure, now is understood as actual changes in how your brain processes information.
His explanation of how working with patients with an eating disorder also involved teaching the patients how social media and marketing is negatively impacting their self image, and how that relates to how most financial related media focuses on negative events.
His explanation of some built in biases may impact how we approach savings and investing was also helpful, and how automating some of the processes of saving and investing and simply taking away the frequent decision making part of that process can enhance our ability to not react to every market event.
Thanks again for investing your time on these podcasts, we are so fortunate you discover really interesting guests and share their experiences with the rest of us.
THANKS!

Another excellent podcast in this wonderful series.
Most memorable line - Dr Crosby recounted the last verse of a poem that he wrote for his young children as he was explaining the death of a family friend,
“Yes, everyone you love will die,
But you’re here today, and so am I”

I found the 'media diet ' very interesting as well as the Dr's description of evolutionary behavior and it's impact on decision making.
An interesting discussion , very appreciative!
