This is one fairly simple way:Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 9:09 am IS this possible on BH? When i type a reply I see where it says insert image and add this shows up but how you get anything in it?
One way of many:
**** Linking to an external image site.
0. You do not need to "login". You do not need to make an account. It is free.
1. Go here: "Post Image Org".
https://postimages.org/
2. Select "image for forums".
(per forum guidelines. . ****No greater than 640 x 480.
Upload your image/photo as directed.
3. Select (copy) box on the right, "hot link for forums".
4. Paste that link into your "boglehead post".
You do not need to use the "link" icon on the boglehead forum because it is already formated for that from the Post/Image site.
Done.
PM me as you wish for help.

If the image is already being hosted externally online, you can just post the image's URL inside the bracketed "img" markup tags that automatically get inserted into your text when you press the icon of the painting.

When you follow the above-linked instructions, you are linking to an external image, not embedding the image here. If you delete the image from the external hosting site, it will disappear from this site as well.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 9:28 am Thank you so much Sandtrap for making it easy!! No. Just leave it alone. It's done.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 9:28 am Thank you so much Sandtrap for making it easy!! Should a person delete it when you are done?
But, if you delete it later or not, on the external site, then the link that's in your post becomes "dead", then the image will no longer appear.
