Hello, I am a european citizen/resident.
I was investing with SQ but the fees are really huge so I would plan to move a part of it to IB. (I also thought about Degiro but as I plan to move out of EU they would close my account?)
I am currently EU citizen+resident but planning to move to UAE in end of year?
I would like to know if it's possible to keep your IB account when you move from EU to Uae, or if you need to close it to open an other one.
To know if it's better for me to wait a few months before opening it, to avoid fees and hassles if I start to invest throught it.
thank you very much
IB and change of residence from eu to uae
Re: IB and change of residence from eu to uae
It is possible. IBKR is allowed for UAE resident
Drop them just a mail. Please be aware that you might be moved from IBKR Ireland to IBKR USA. You can ask if you can stay with them in Ireland. I did it and it was successful.

We are using IB (IBKR) here in UAE without any problem. It is one of the most efficient broker in every aspect. Cheers.
