From a Wall Street Journal article in the aftermath of the 1987 market crash (based on my memory).
A reporter asked a CEO why the company wasn't purchasing their own stock at such low levels.
His response:
"I've heard of lots of companies that have gone out of business because they ran out of cash. I've not heard of one going out of business because their stock price was too low."

Most of these I wished I had learned earlier or took them more seriously when I heard them. Now nearing 60 there are a lot of things I wished I would have done differently.
Don't judge a person until you walk a mile in their shoes.
Youth is wasted on the young.
Money can buy you possessions or freedom.
The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. -Nelson Mandela

This one I just read and wished I had read it sooner -
"Do not let making a living prevent you from making a life." -John Wooden
One thing I look back on and regret is playing life too safe. Fear of failure kept me from trying things. When I was briefly a manager I told people no one has ever passed a test w/o taking it. I see Gretzky is attributed to the following which is about the same thing - "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take".
I don't know if there is a saying that would summarize the following but if true it would be another of my failings - Something along the lines of enjoying life as it comes on a daily basis instead of racing to reach certain end points. I was very obsessed with getting through college and don't think I gained much from it except the education. I raced through too many work weeks just to get to the weekends which meant I threw away 5/7ths of many weeks.
Lots of good quotes out there.

Socrates:
"Is it better to live among good people or bad?"
This is the question Socrates poses to the person who accused him of corrupting the youth of Athens during Socrates' trial for his life.
Socrates followed up by saying only an insane person would deliberately corrupt the young, so if he did corrupt the youth he must be insane or have done it unintentionally, neither of which would make him guilty. His question is brilliant enough as a great one-liner in the context of his trial, but beyond that it invites the listener/reader to think on their own that if it's obviously better to live among the good, then what are our own responsibilities?
(From Plato's Apology)

I too keep an online list of quotes
A satisfied life is better than a successful life. Because our success is measured my others, but our satisfaction is measured by our own mind, heart, & soul.
Family is not the people you are related to by blood,” she wrote. “They are the people that support you, look out for you, & love you unconditionally.”
Keith Richards: no one wants to get old, but no one wants to die young either.
Keith Richards: People like Rock,
I like the roll.
“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” - Jamie Anderson
A man who fears suffering
Already suffers what he fears
"The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails."
— John Maxwel
that the pain of change usually doesn't come from actual change, it comes from resisting it.
Not fragile like a flower, fragile like a bomb.
And finally….
I saw God walking across the Upper Peninsula. When I stopped to ask Him why He was here He replied, “I’m working from home this week.”
