Although expressed by Alexander Hamilton in response to the Reynolds Affair, it is relevant to investing where we often hear about how high fees are justified.

"Lies often detected and refuted are still revived and repeated, in the hope that the refutation may have been forgotten or that the frequency and boldness of accusation may supply the place of truth and proof.." Alexander Hamilton, Reynolds Pamphlet , Philadelphia July 1797

From Mother Teresa (I am not worthy to repeat her words)...

“Do ordinary things with extraordinary love”
“Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the action that we do”
“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love”
“We have been created for greater things, to love and be loved”

Attributed to John Wayne
That's in The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1970) by George V. Higgens.

The website Quote Investigator has this to say:
  • Quote Investigator: QI and other researchers have found no substantive evidence that John Wayne crafted this saying. The earliest strong match known to QI appeared in the 1971 novel “The Friends of Eddie Coyle” by George V. Higgins.
That book is known for being dialogue driven and that line of dialogue fits in naturally. I read the book, one of my favorites. The 1973 Peter Yates movie based on it starring Robert Mitchum is also quite good and much of the dialog in the move is straight from the book.

For many tasks, you have just one chance to do it right.

If you have time to do it over, you have time to do it right the first time.

It’s better to get ten things done decently, than try to do one thing perfectly (me).

The world has become so woke now that - I kid you not - I watched someone, within the last week too, in a video say a word replacing its 'con' prefix with 'pro' and I was stunned. Unfortunately, I have forgotten what I was watching and what the word was

This was similar to seamlessly saying 'protribute' in a sentence instead of 'contribute' :-(

When King Philip II of Macedon (father of Alexander the Great) invaded southern Greece, he sent a message to the Spartans asking if he would be received as a friend or enemy.
The Spartans’ reply was brief: “Neither.”

Offended, Philip sent a threat: “You are advised to submit without further delay, for if I bring my army into your land, I will destroy your farms, slay your people, and raze your city.”

The Spartans’ reply was just as short as before: “If.”

Like Gen McAuliffe (1944) responding to German communique:

To the U.S.A. Commander of the encircled town of Bastogne.
The fortune of war is changing. This time the U.S.A. forces in and near Bastogne have been encircled by strong German armored units. More German armored units have crossed the river Ourthe near Ortheuville, have taken Marche and reached St. Hubert by passing through Hompre-Sibret-Tillet. Libramont is in German hands.
There is only one possibility to save the encircled U.S.A. troops from total annihilation: that is the honorable surrender of the encircled town. In order to think it over a term of two hours will be granted beginning with the presentation of this note.
If this proposal should be rejected one German Artillery Corps and six heavy A. A. Battalions are ready to annihilate the U.S.A. troops in and near Bastogne. The order for firing will be given immediately after this two hours term.
All the serious civilian losses caused by this artillery fire would not correspond with the well-known American humanity.

Brig Gen Anthony McAuliffe to the German Commander.

A trader asked Groucho Marx where he invests his money.
Marx: "I keep my money in bonds" or "treasuries."
Trader: "You'll never be rich from those."
Marx: "You will if you have enough of them."

Not 100% sure if it was said by Groucho Marx.
