Rent vs Buy in Belgium

Post by VWCE »

Hi,

I've read some topics about renting vs buying but it seems to me (in general) rent is quite higher in the US than it is in Europe.

I have done a lot of research and right now in the areas I am looking at an appartment that sells for around €250.000,00 would cost roughly around €800,00/m to rent (not including utilities)

Buying that same appartment with the current rates:
  • €50.000,00 down payment
  • ~ €1.200,00/m mortgage (+utilities)
  • Maintenance costs (!)
Renting that same appartment:
  • €800,00/m (+utilities)
Is this a no brainer right here?

EDIT: I believe I posted this topic in the wrong section... don't know how to move it :/ sorry.
