After watching Death on the Nile a second time last night, I'm listening to the Sister Rosetta Tharpe station on Pandora.

When combined with my Sonus Faber speakers, it makes for a good morning of listening.

P!nk, Irrelevant

Don't know all the background, but seems P!nk was told by someone to shut up and sing.

This came up for me on the Spotify Friday list of Release Radar. Released as a single yesterday.

Here's the youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHGuWDzQpcM

some explicit lyrics.

I do enjoy her voice and style.

Papa Loves Mambo — Perry Como. A catchy tune.

Sailor — Steve Miller Band. I especially like Song For Our Ancestors (play it loud, with the bass turned up!). The whole album is good. Les Paul and Mary Ford were frequent visitors to the Miller household when Steve was growing up.

Single from new album coming out in October. The music video has a Tim Burton vibe. Avantasia really puts out consistently enjoyable music.

Still so sad that Adam Schlesinger passed in March 2020 - one of the first victims of Covid here in the US. Such a shame. ;(

Rolling Stones - 1963 - 1966 Demos and Outtakes
No YouTube link, but this site has the tracks listed:
https://rockronologia.blogspot.com/2019 ... g.html?m=0

It’s obviously a bootleg that I downloaded from somewhere on the Internet, but the sound ois very good for the time period. Lots of harmonica, spare arrangements, and the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World developing and finding their groove.
Stewed and Keefed made me think about Ian Stewart and how he got screwed by management. He was an important part of the early Stones, but management decided that he didn’t fit the look.

We just stumbled upon YouTube of Evangelina Mascardi.

She is playing a Bach Partita on a very strange lute with a bent neck (Liuto barocco) with a remarkable sound:

https://youtu.be/1JYjcwW9MmM

Incredibly peaceful......

She also plays the theorbo, which has an extraordinarily long neck with a second pegbox.

That’s a good song, It was played a lot on the radio back then. Here’s another song sung by Johnny Rivers, written by Willie Dixon, Seventh Son. You’re probably familiar with it.

Another song from several years earlier I really like, sung by Gene Pitney, (The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valence. Sadly never used in the film.
