I thought I heard differences between cables. Perhaps I did. By contrast, I KNOW that I heard beneficial effects of acoustic treatments. On a dollar for dollar basis, acoustic treatments and higher quality room correction software is miles ahead of any other incremental spend. Just my opinion. And, it did enter my thinking before purchasing our house, which has a lot of fieldstone walls — there’s nothing like random surfaces to improve sound.
