Old Threads

Post by jebmke »

Is it just me or have dozens of old, out of date threads all of a sudden risen into the Bogleheads timeline?

Does this have something to do with a recent update?

I think one poster was just quite interested in old threads, perhaps? Not sure. For me it has looked the same as far as the UI layout etc.

No, it is not just you. The same question came to my mind this morning...about the time you posted yours!

It was one member who has been informed of our concerns. Hopefully, this should be resolved.
Wiki To some, the glass is half full. To others, the glass is half empty. To an engineer, it's twice the size it needs to be.

A lot of web forum users hold a pretty dumb double standard:

1. "[X] has been discussed before in detail, go read those threads! Why are you starting your own!?"

2. "Waaaah you necroed a thread from 5 years ago!"
So true. But at some point the old thread is no longer relevant. There is another issue here of having threads that are just too long and contain useless information that bury the relevant.

Then you have the complaint to a poster “read the thread” or this was already answered somewhere in the 6500 previous posts.

I always scroll looking at dates to see what the new question or new information is that is being added to restart this discussion. Always interesting to see a new question about an old thread - or updated info.
