Best auto insurance in FL (Tampa Bay region)

I need to insure a car in the Tampa Bay region of Florida.
What is the best company and who offers the best deal?
And what is the best way to shop for this?
I have a good driving record.

I’m in that area but I’m not sure there’s a best for the area.
I would look on some of the auto insurance comparisons websites like eSURANCE OR TheZebra.
Or, call AAA or an independent agent in your area as they will usually get you quotes from 3 or more companies.

If I apply for homestead in FL I will have to switch my auto registration to FL, and the additional cost would probably offset the benefit of homestead, but I am considering it.

We are not at all familiar with the Tampa area for insurance but on the other coast we have Allstate on a couple of vehicles and a 'specialty' (collectors/sports/historical) company on a third.
For the exact same vehicles with the exact same policies, it is about the same cost on the Space Coast as in LI NY.
