Thinking of buying a brand new Toyota 4Runner TRD
I want to buy this car but don't want to overpaid. Do I start by shopping around Toyota dealerships?

There has been a heavy discussion about purchasing a new vehicle and how to get the best price in this post.

I found a great deal on a used 4wd SR5. $27k for 22k miles.
Found it at a chevy dealership. I’d do that for a few weeks and be ready to strike and if nothing happens then look new.

TRD Pro or TRD offroad?
TRD Pro's sell at or over list price from what I've read.

Can’t go wrong with Toyota. Far superior to Subaru.

Go for it. One of the best quality 4WD truck you can buy. Very good re-sale value. The ride is bumpy due to its body on frame design. If you off road, it is a must. If you most ride on road, a unibody RX350 would do.

I was at the local Toyota dealer just yesterday. They had a beautiful blue TRD Pro Tacoma. On the sticker there was a $5,000 "market adjustment" on top of MSRP. Sales guy's comment is that the TRD Pro sell so fast, they won't consider budging from their price.
Not sure if they would never budge...but seems like some people will pay well above sticker for just the right vehicle.

TRD Pro for 4Runners are very easy to move and it’s reasonable to expect to pay full MSRP. You also generally put a deposit down on them to reserve a unit. More than MSRP? I would go to a different dealer.krannerd wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 2:18 pm I was at the local Toyota dealer just yesterday. They had a beautiful blue TRD Pro Tacoma. For Tacoma TRD Pros... not sure off the top of my head
TRD Off Road 4runners have wiggle room.
Thank God for Wall Street Bets.

Have you considered buying from an American company?

Their real world prices and tactics were invaluable when I was buying my end-of-the-model-year 2016 Trail Premium with KDSS.
The forum has many other useful threads, too.

Here is a post where I wrote about experience in buying a Corolla last January.imbogled wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 11:10 am There has been a heavy discussion about purchasing a new vehicle and how to get the best price in this post.

My experience could be a lot different though since there was an ample supply of Corollas and it was easy to get a price well below MSRP.

Based upon the '18 and '19 colors, I'd pay over MSRP now for a '17 cement. That being said, I'm not so enamored by the color that I'm willing to pick one up for the premium it likely fetches. I think 2020 is supposed to be a major overhaul on the current design before Toyota does the 6th generation. Or, there's the Ford Bronco coming for sure.
Thank God for Wall Street Bets.

Whaaaaaaa....?
Of course, you realize that Toyota owns a 16.5% stake in Subaru, right? And that joint development goes on between the two, right?
I wonder if this could be circular, and that Toyota is far superior to itself.....?
