4000 for me... I'm retiring when it hits that (or in 4 years, whichever comes first).

I assume you have turned in your retirement notice! :sharebeer

A coworker announced his retirement in a group chat today.

He wasn't serious. :D

LOL... I was wondering if I should pull up that post today....

I'm a big chicken, of course... I apologize to all the One-More-Year people I criticized in the past...

4000 got here a lot faster than I expected.

I might need another year (or two), or another 10%... you guys know the drill... :)

But I will say this... I'm not too worried about getting fired anymore. :beer

The absolute best part. The last five years of my career when I knew I was FI was nice, but my employer knowing I was FI was priceless.

Yeah, holy cow... despite being fellow 50/50 or 60/40 conservative-for-our-age investors, this market has pushed me and my wife beyond the $1M mark today for the first time, and it just doesn't feel real. I don't blame you at all for thinking OMY.

Some of these strategists are already making some (fairly useless) projections of SPX 8000... by 2030.

This thread is now in the US Chapters forum (community). I also retitled the thread for clarity.

Is there a Boglehead past 50 that’s worried about getting fired?

I think many are secretly wishing for it. :sharebeer

HomerJ - I added you to the Retirement Roll Call Infinity Retirement Class - you're in great company, and with the ongoing nature of the S&P 500, you really could keep this going for a very long time :D
