High school nickname. Conservative retirement year. Might need to change it to 2040 if all goes well.

I chose a two word combo to represent Gandolph.

Perhaps in my later years, it can also reflect upon myself.

Mine is not financially specific but simply acknowledges that the UN is accurate and has been forever, though only recognized as I aged and became less of the opinion "Not always correct but never in doubt." The Webb telescope is the latest confirmation that the user name is accurate.

I want to go out the way ol' Zeno did back in 262 BCE at age 71 ("set free" in the following context referring to death):

"The story goes that Zeno of Citium after enduring many hardships by reason of old age was set free, some say by ceasing to take food; others say that once when he had tripped he beat with his hand upon the earth and cried, 'I come of my own accord; why then call me?'" http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/tex ... :chapter=1; but see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeno_of_Citium (Zeno died holding his breath after tripping while uttering similar words).

Post by pseudoiterative »

"pseudoiterative" is stolen from Kim Stanley Robinson's science fiction novel "2312":
The pattern of the day might be the same, in other words, but the individual events fulfilling the pattern were always a little bit different. Thus there was both pattern and surprise, and this was Wahram's desired state: to live in a pseudoiterative. But then also to live in a good pseudoiterative, an interesting one, the pattern constructed as a little work of art. No matter the brevity of a trip, the dullness of the terrarium or the people in it, it was important to invent a pattern and a project and pursue it with all his will and imagination.
There's a longer excerpt here.

There are a number of habits, near-habits, semi-habits that combine for bogleheadish long term investment success. Do the thing that you do to generate the money. Spend some of the money, but not too much. Invest the surplus. Repeat, many many times. Hopefully you have some patterns or some projects in your life that can be pursued with imagination and art ... although perhaps it is better to manage the investment side of things with duller, methodical habits.

I am from Puerto Rico - that's the "Rico" (which also means "rich" in Spanish)
Roosters are common in Puerto Rican iconography - Rooster = Gallo

"El Gallo Rico" = "The Rich Rooster"

Notice that I am NOT rich, nor a rooster... but I am striving to be both!

Well, as you ask for it..

Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me, (with big yawning)
As plurdled gabbleblotchits, in midsummer morning
On a lurgid bee,
That mordiously hath blurted out,
Its earted jurtles, grumbling
Into a rancid festering confectious organ squealer. [drowned out by moaning and screaming]
Now the jurpling slayjid agrocrustles,
Are slurping hagrilly up the axlegrurts,
And living glupules frart and stipulate,
Like jowling meated liverslime,
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes,
And hooptiously drangle me,
With crinkly bindlewurdles,mashurbitries.
Or else I shall rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon,
See if I don't!

How many of us knew at the time we created the username that we’d be on this forum using it so regularly? If I had, perhaps I would have put more thought into selecting it. I chose my username because it was the first name that came to mind, totally unrelated to anything. Now I’m stuck with it for eternity.

Perhaps more interestingly, how many of us use the same name elsewhere? I sure don’t but some of us do (I can think of a few offhand who are on Reddit and or Rational reminder). For those who do use the same, why? I don’t because to paraphrase George Constanza, it’s untenable when worlds collide. I certainly wouldn’t want to be Annette in all contexts. I’m on Reddit, Instagram, a game site and Rational Reminder but all under different usernames. My next username will be something more aggressive like Thor or Viking IV. Lol.

The exponential growth of a spring garden...from nothing to a thing of beauty to an uncontrollable monstrosity requiring effort to prune the excess growth. Hopefully the portfolio mirrors this pathway. Winter always seems to be around the corner, but periodic winter is expected and is always followed by spring (reminder to ignore the permabears). The garden always comes back and grows faster and more vibrant each year, especially if one invests more in the winter to prepare for spring.

Also, I like to garden (big surprise there).

I use this username nowhere else.
