Can I "subscribe" to a user?

Post by Cara »

Is it possible to get a notification whenever a particular user posts or comments? This is not someone I know - I recently became aware of a financial author on the forum that I'd like to learn from here.

I don't want to seem to "stalker-y," but I'd love to read his posts as a way to become better educated, and it'd be great to not have to remember to search for him, each time I visit.

I reckon not. Besides, blocking someone fits far better with my personality.

Not sure about notification, but:

When logged in, if you click on a username, on if the option is to search that user's posts. So you would see a list that posts only by that user, of that would give you what you want.

Sorry, you can't get a notification for a specific member's post.

MathWizard has a good solution. Search the Members list for the person of interest, then click on the "Search user's post" link in the member profile.

Wiki To some, the glass is half full. To others, the glass is half empty. To an engineer, it's twice the size it needs to be.

And if you bookmark that page (or save a shortcut icon, etc.) you can go right to the list of posts by that person, starting with the most recent.

Wouldn’t it be fascinating to know who on earth we all are? Ah, well. I love anonymity and realize it’s a big part of what makes this possible. I’m very new to social media and just find it fascinating that we talk to people only imagining who they may be but not knowing.

It adds the user to the Friends list on your User Control Panel.

I see. Thank you. I guess the OP could use that. Or would it notify the new "friend" that was added?

This seems the best option.
