Ireland ETFs Dividends Advatange for non-US Shares

Post by adamovicm »

The big adventage for Ireland ETFs is that dividends from US companies are taxed 15%. So if your country doesn't have a tax treaty with US, it makes a lot of sense to buy US shares through Ireland based accumulated ETF.

I have a question about shares from other countries.

If ETF contains shares from countries other than US, is there a list of countries with benefits Ireland ETFs get from tax treaties regarding dividends?

I hope I understand it well, I would like to see a list like:

Code: Select all

Country Ireland ETFs Dividend Tax No tax Treaty Dividend Tax
US 15% 30%
Germany xxx.xx%
etc.
I couldn't find such a list by googling. Any help?

We hold VWRD as our only UCITS ETF. The dividend withholding tax is 12.4%.

It's 15% if you hold only US equities. E.g VUSD.

For USA 15%. For non-USA developed 9.5%. For EM 11.2%.
