I thought I'd just put a heads up out there for those of you who use Ally Bank and have a Google Voice number setup. Ally's 2-factor authentication never worked for me using Google Voice, but email always did.
But they changed the options recently where you don't get a choice of using either email or phone number to do the authentication. They only give you the option to use the phone authentication if it's in their system. I had to call them up to remove my phone number from the authentication options in order to get back to being able to authenticate thru email.
Note, you are not removing the phone number from your profile.. just from the two factor authentication.
Hopefully this helps someone else in the same situation.
