Why is the VSCGX | Vanguard LifeStrategy Conservative Growth Fund down?

Maybe because it likely paid out a dividend. It usually does about now.

You mean over the past month?

The fund is made up of 40% stocks and 60% bonds, and both are part US and part International. There's been some ups and downs in both the stock and bond markets. It all nets out to a relatively small drop recently for VSCGX.

There is no dividend distribution showing (yet) on Vanguard's site: VSCGX - Vanguard LifeStrategy Conservative Growth Fund | Vanguard, but I would agree that it's due.

Morningstar says it is down nine tenths of one percent over the last month. A $10,000 investment would be down about $88.
