Podcast Recommendations?

Just after some podcast recommendations, (not necessarily investing) what do you listen to?

I listen to The Joe Rogan Experience but recently its been boring. Guests have been lame lately. Wish he would go back to having comedians, cage fighters and alex jones on. OT comment removed by admin LadyGeek Oh well, I started listening to Joey Diaz podcast lately. Not quite the same either without Lee...sigh.

This is a timely topic because I was just searching for podcasts. I listened to one this morning called Rabbit Hole by the NYTimes. It's totally drawn me in. I look forward to trying some of the other suggestions listed above.

don't listen to the show. my brother recommended the interview with Ray Kurtzweil. It was so tedious because Rogan was so out of his element. Guess cage fighters and conspiracy theories are more his speed.

So not sure what kind of "science stuff" he's having on his show but if it's legit it's not getting through to Rogan [Reference to stupidity of others and COVID removed by Moderator Misenplace.]

Most political podcasts are full of hate and hyperbole, but these guys have a pretty easygoing way of explaining what's going on. Plus, they actually worked in the white house, so they have the experience to decipher what's what.

So many "serious" podcasts in there. How about Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend to lighten it up a bit?

It's real, smart, quality conversation and funny too. If you aren't a "Team Coco" type it's still worth a listen.

For those that liked Joe Rogan in his heyday, I recommend Lex Fridman's podcast. He has some amazing scientists and deep technical discussion, as well as some of the typical 'podcast circuit' guests.

Comedy:
Blank Check - deep dive into movies
Flop House - movies that bombed

Other:
Peter Attia
Tim Ferriss - depending on the guest
Nourish Balance Thrive Podcast - health
Jocko Podcast - depending on guest
Jordan Peterson
Eric Weinstein - math, physics (on pause at the moment)

I'm on Android, and use Google Podcast (I don't remember now if it came installed or if I downloaded it from the Play Store).
It lets you search for podcasts by name, each result comes with a subscribe button, and there's an Explore button that presents podcasts that are popular with people who subscribe to podcasts you've subscribed to.

It also lets you listen to a podcast at a faster than normal rate (1.2 works well for me, 1.5 I find a bit much).

+1 This is a real gem. Although generally approachable to laymen, Sean Carroll has serious, in-depth conversations with serious people. This not just your standard biographies and anecdotes, and more-often-than-not gets deep into the weeds on some very abstruse topics. I listen with the intent to learn something, rather than be entertained.

Yes, cage fighting and conspiracy theories are more his speed. And comedians. Those things are more interesting. I couldnt care less about physicists or scientist looking to prevent aging...minus neil degrasse tyson, he's always fun to listen to.

Oh, 2 bears 1 Cave is also good. More comedians.

Left, Right & Center - A weekly political roundtable discussion every Friday. The guests are respectful of one another and there's no shouting.
The Doughboys - Two comedians review chain restaurants. A bit raunchy but always hysterical.
You Must Remember This - Karina Longworth explores "the secret and/or forgotten history of Hollywood's first century."
WTF w/Marc Maron - Can be great, but it really depends on the guest he's interviewing.
Milk Street Radio - Cooking podcast from Christopher Kimball, formerly of America's Test Kitchen. Has a more global cuisine approach.
Trailer Geeks and Teaser Gods - Podcast about the movie trailer industry. Probably of little interest to anyone outside it.
Pivot - Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway discuss the week's issues, mostly media/tech heavy.

Run them at 1.75 speed.

Almost all podcasts (except people who talk very fast) can be understood at that speed, and you can get through them a lot faster.
