Heading to Universal on Monday with the kiddos. Gonna be hot!!
It's the last day before CA restrictions are lifted on June 15th, so capacity is limited to 35%. However, recent reviews mention long lines as the number of people allowed on the rides is limited.
Thankful I was able to call and upgrade our tickets to express unlimited. A lot of $ but with the heat and lines I think it'll work out well. We don't go to these parks very often.
Questions:
Any recent visits from folks during Covid this year? We are staying at the Hilton, I think 5 mins away.
Not sure whether to take the shuttle from the hotel or park our car at Universal. We head to Newport Beach straight after our Universal visit.
Any advice on navigating the park? We've downloaded the app. Also, Any tips for lunch would be appreciated. Apparently we can't take food in.
Cheers!

Since you’re going to bypass all the lines, there’s really nothing to worry about. Just do whatever you like and enjoy feeling like a VIP as you walk past everyone in line.

Thanks! I've not seen this before. The one day planner doc is pretty awesome! Has a detailed guide and recommended path. Useful for us even with the express tickets. Get most of the rides done early and then shows in the PM sounds like a good idea on a hot day.smitcat wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 7:02 am Cannot help personallly with the Calif. location - have you tried reading the 'undercovertourist' sites tricks and tips articles in the blogs for best visit guidelines?

Cheers. Honestly, enough ppl pony up for the express tickets where I'm sure we'll still need to wait for some time. All good, we're excited. Careful the express ticket is NOT the VIP concierge private tour. The express lets you get in the “express” line. Depends on how many “express” passes they sold.
Went to Orlando universal in February. The Express ticket for our family of 3 was not much less expensive than a “private tour”. After the guided private tour concluded we had access to the “express” lines. The express lines in February in universal Florida was as long as 1 hour on popular Harry Potter experiences. The guided private tour concierge escorted on all the rides we wanted (but only once each day) based upon the concept of a “predetermined set tour”. There was another “unlimited” private tour in which you choose the tour yourself, and thus was 3x cost of the predetermined tour.

Thanks for this caution. I'm hoping the CA restriction of only 35% capacity helps on Monday.Xrayman69 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 9:08 pm Careful the express ticket is NOT the VIP concierge private tour. The express lets you get in the “express” line. Depends on how many “express” passes they sold.

Re: Universal Studios Hollywood!
Quick update: had a great day. Got in at park opening. 5 or 6 rides before lunch. We were glad to get the express unlimited pass. After lunch another 6 or 7. Including multiple runs of our faves. Jurassic water ride was great, did that three times! Called it a day around 4 and headed to our next stop at Newport Beach. If anyone has Newport Beach tips I'm all ears
