What is the Softest Mattress in a Box?
Would it be the softest mattress on the market?
Re: What is the Softest Mattress in a Box?
Any mattress with a 3" latex topper, then throw a pillow-top mattress cover on top of it. I'd actually recommend a slightly firm mattress and let the cushioning do the work.

I have both of those on top of a Tuft and Needle 'Nod Hybrid' mattress and am very pleased with how plush and supportive it all is.

Then use Bamboo/Rayon sheets for the luxurious softness and drape of silk without the catching and static or delicacy.

All said and done is about $1,000.

I am a side sleeper and purchased a Nolah mattress primarily on the fact that Nolah won an award as the best for side sleepers. It was beyond soft, it was like falling into a deep hole that you have to climb out of. Rolling over is near impossible. I had to turn the mattress over just to even use it and it was still too soft. If you want soft, really soft, really really soft, then a Nolah may be for you. No problems with the company.

Actually, the latex can vary in firmness. Check the ILD rating which is a rating of firmness. This explains ILD. https://savvyrest.com/blog/guide-to-fir ... ery%20firm.kevinf wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 9:35 pm Any mattress with a 3" latex topper, then throw a pillow-top mattress cover on top of it. You might want to try mattresses at some local shop that is honest with you about ILD ratings to see what you prefer....you can then go buy your mattress anywhere online, matching the preferred ILD rating as closely as possible.
If you have allergies/sensitivities the topping should preferably be natural organic Talalay vs Dunlop latex.

I like the Helix Sunset. It's their softest model.

Seconded. Two sides sleepers here, one who is used to rigid foam and the other who prefers marshmallow softness. The Helix Sunset Deluxe works for both of us because of the structure of springs under all the squish. I will note that the extra topper begins to take a depression fairly quickly (under a year), but that has not interfered with comfort.

I've been extremely satisfied with the Brooklyn Bedding mattress; it comes in 3 levels of firmness and the Soft is wonderful. Good combination of a firm base layer with a very comfortable plush upper. Price is quite reasonable as well since they always have a promotion going.
I've also added a foam topper and padded mattress cover and that has created by far the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I've bought 3 of these and recommend them highly.

As as lightweight side sleeper, I was recently looking for the exact same thing, the softest memory foam mattress I could find. We ended up going with the Layla mattress. It has 2 sides, a "hard" side and a "soft" side. The soft was rated quite soft by most reviewers, including here: https://sleepopolis.com/mattress-review ... ss-review/
It is indeed quite a bit softer than any other foam mattress I have tried and the back pain that I had been experiencing with my previous mattress has resolved. Overall we're quite happy with the purchase.
