You are gambling. Investing in 500 or 3000 US companies is outdated, but going all-in in one electric car company is what your research has shown? I do hope your all in tesla bet works out for you in 2030. Plenty of people on here will be satisfied with their 2 or 3 fund portfolios that won’t beat the market.sjl333 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 4:01 amdo some more research....if im wrong... i am okay with that... boglehead index fund investing is out-dated. lets meet back in 2030? tesla out here solving real world problems (Self driving AI, battery technology, amazing cars (albeit not the best of qualities), potential for robo-taxis (will make uber/lyft obsolete)). I admit, the FSD still has a lot of work, but i am betting they will figure it out. Lets meet in 2030 and see how well this ages?bstewie wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 3:57 amyou lost me at “still all-in on tesla and ok with the gamble”

Tesla’s truck….it’s windows are bulletproof but not proofed against metal balls.

Basically, Musk watched Back to the Future Part III and realized that the Cyber Truck would have done better. So he took the time machine and lifted it.
If this is anything like the Model 3, it's probably going to be closer to 100k when it first comes out. If Ford can put out their truck with decent specs, it's going to to eat Tesla's lunch.
I'd wait for both Ford and Tesla to release their trucks before buying either one. In the meantime, I'd get a new/used Tacoma or Tundra.

Wow that is one fugly vehicle.

Yep. It looks like a bad prop vehicle from either Freejack or one of the TekWar made for TV movies.

I would buy a 70k+ 1 ton duality company truck to pull construction equipment so 100% deductible and I just happened to have a 30+ foot deep sea fishing boat on a trailer.
However, there are stages of life to buy all kinds of stuff and so forth.
What is a 70k cyber truck?
You have been approved pending approval fees.

Without the smokestack and the truck nuts, seems a bit understated.lthenderson wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 1:48 pm What you should really consider is how much Tesla stock you will need to sell to afford all the customizations to your Cybertruck.

I figure the odds be fifty-fifty I just might have something to say. FZ

At least it's not one of those "Hi, I have $3.5M in a 401k, $2.5M in an IRA and $1.7M liquid and have no debt, can I buy a used Camry" threads, where they're really just flaunting their wealth and want praise.CPonzi wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 1:18 pmIMO the OP isn't asking for advice. Almost all Bogleheads disagree with his investment approach yet he sees the need to point it out... why would he listen to their car purchasing advice. If OP was truly seeking advice on a purchase he would have left the 100% Tesla Asset Allocation out of the post knowing it would divert attention from the Cyber Truck purchase approval.
My question is still, if the OP believes so much in Tesla, why is he driving a Honda and looking to buy a Toyota? There are some great Tesla autos out there now vs. waiting 3 years.

If you need to ask for approval, the answer is no.
