The WFUV 2020 Listeners Poll 90 Best Songs of the Year. It's 90 because they're at 90.7 FM There's also a best albums list.
Here's the link to the Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4pThX ... fhAL7osAzO

Priceless!
There was a guy (fellow senior now) in our music jam group that played and sang these songs for decades at nearly every practice.
The way he sang, "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" made me think that it must've been about the time he broke up from a long relationship. (sort of like Percy Faith with "When A Man Loves A Woman" which he played on the organ and sang impromptu after church practice left and he thought the place was empty.

Re: What are you listening to now
Generally listen to different music that matches what I'm doing; mowing, gym room, shop tinkering, or needing to chill out and de-stress, etc.
New noise cancellation bluetooth neck ear bud gadget is awesome!
In the gym room: Japanese Enka on (cassette tapes), Vietnam hippie high energy music (Stones, Hendrix, Cream, etc) or Cello Concertos and Prokofiev. Or, acoustic guitar works or jazz guitar.
When mowing or working, fixing, etc.: Old country (George Strait, etc), Oldies (doo wop, etc), pop, sometimes Hillsong, Amy Grant.
When needing to chill out or de-stress or someting is sore or in pain somewhere: Hillsong United, Amy Grant, Oldies, pop/soul, pop.
When driving: now. . . that's "road trip music", a very special genre. "Hitchin A Ride", BeeGees, Disco, Soul/temptations, Smokey, etc. Classic Rock.
And, of course, Acoustic Hawaiian Music in Hawaiian, IZ, Kapena, Jake on Uke, Hoo'pii, Dennis Pavao, traditional to Jawaiian to North Shore style, etc, for everything.
Here's a great timeless video song that will bring back memories, or smoky foggy memories, to some here.
(enter the time machine. . . . )
"Oliver: Good Morning StarShine" (click on youtube video/music link below and it will play)

Yes I like these songs too. They’re from my youth. I was listening because Gerry Marsden had just died the day before.Sandtrap wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 8:50 amPriceless!

Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers' Songbook (Vol 1)
Released today. It's the surviving brother, Barry Gibb, paired with Dolly Parton, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Brandi Carlile, and others. Recognizable Gibb Brother standards.
If not for the marque names, so far for me, meh

One bonus to having Amazon Unlimited is you can listen to remastered releases, and sometimes a few bonus tracks that were not on the original release.
I was lucky enough to see Clapton in concert in Tampa, a DD bnought me two tickets. Unbeknownst to me DD thought I would be taking her to the concert, but I took DW instead. Clapton seemed to be very shy, though he certainly let his guitar work speak for him. Everything seemed so effortless no matter what he was playing, slow song, fast song.
The warm-up group was Robert Randolph and The Family Band, and they put on a smoking set, as well. It was my first exposure to the group, but later I added some of their releases to my CD collection.

Robert Randolph is a lot of fun in concert - caught him with Joe Bonamassa a few years ago.I have them both!

If get a chance, Steve Winwood is really good live too - our local PAC had one of his shows when he was in for the Super Bowl back in 2010 - excellent.

Streaming Prince right now, DD was helping DW and Prince is one of her favorites.
I'm somewhat a fan of Prince, though not hardcore. Still, I totally respect his contributions, as he was a very talented writer and performer.
Sad to see his family squabbling over his estate.

Re: What are you listening to now
Found a great new 3-piece band on YouTube: Dea Matrona. I haven't listened to anything else since I found them.
They are three Irish girls. The two oldest (21 and 20) are best friends from school, and the drummer is the younger sister of one. The two leads trade bass and guitar, as well as vocals. Some of their rock covers sound better than the original classics.
Listen to this busking version of Oh Well:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYPfmOhua3o
or Johnny B Goode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7VKEJQp9qs
and even Crossroads:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtUQlLLgJJ8
Their version of Gloria is killer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ur4iLsXmoeU
and this version of Bonnie Raitt's Love Me Like a Man might be even better:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YICSGp9t34
ditto Carole King's I Feel the Earth Move: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVQfimbgu_A
They have some good originals too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bxkL1D3adY
and: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1DF1-OH6F8
They're really terrific.

Listening to The Cars quite a bit lately...on You Tube. Live concert clips available. Excellent group. Glad to see they finally got their recognition at R&R HOF. Also listening to Abba...damn they were good. Didnt appreciate them (or BeeGees) at the time, but both were incredible musical groups.
While at the Y working out, I am listening to Scott Galloway podcasts and also 31 Thoughts by Elliott Friedman (covers NHL) quite well.
