The assumption - that somehow the hydrocarbon infrastructure was immune from disruption - was clearly very mistaken. (Edit to clarify - that wasn't OP's assumption, but clearly one made by some who think an EV means you'll be stuck in a storm.)
Kid was filing up their diesel pickup last night (all gasoline pumps bagged, of course) when an older gentleman pulled up in a Mercedes 300D.

Then popped open the trunk and began to fill up a large auxiliary fuel tank installed there.

He'll be riding around in style during this gas-pocalypse.
