What do such ultra optimistic headlines mean to you ? The world is still suffering from a pandemic , so how does that square with a major boom ? Is it a contrarian indicator ?
CNBC headline - does it serve as a contrarian indicator

Re: CNBC headline - does it serve as a contrarian indicator
If it turns out in hindsight to be a contrarian indicator, it is pure coincidence.
I always assume that "news" like that has no bearing on what will happen and is no better than a coin flip.

There's plenty of reason to think the economy will enjoy huge tailwinds as things reopen. People probably will be more productive this year than last. But what impact will that have on stock prices or other investments? No one really knows.
Re: CNBC headline - does it serve as a contrarian indicator
Mostly likely could be right.
I won't take any action on it.

I removed an off-topic interchange (political perspective of a news organization). As a reminder, see: Politics and Religion
In order to avoid the inevitable frictions that arise from these topics, political or religious posts and comments are prohibited. The only exceptions to this rule are:
- Common religious expressions such as sending your prayers to an ailing member.
- Usage of factual and non-derogatory political labels when necessary to the discussion at hand.
- Discussions about enacted laws or regulations that affect the individual investor. Note that discussions of proposed legislation are prohibited.
- Proposed regulations that are directly related to investing may be discussed if and when they are published for public comments.

LOL. How they keep talking about "so many jobs!" and actually mention Powell speaking at the IMF forum and also completely ignore that he straight up said there that it's not actually looking so good for the low income unemployed and a lot of those jobs are probably about to be automated... This is what journalism has come to.skor99 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 1:04 pm The economy is on the cusp of a major boom and economists believe it could last

This thread has run its course and is locked (economic policy, journalism). See: Non-actionable (Trolling) Topics
If readers can't do anything with the content of a topic other than argue about it, it does not belong here. Examples include:
- US or world economic, political, tax, health care and climate policies
- conspiracy theories of any type
- discussions of the crimes, shortcomings or stupidity of other people, whether they be political figures, celebrities, CEOs, Fed chairmen, subprime mortgage borrowers, lottery winners, federal "bailout" recipients, poor people, rich people, etc. Of course, you are welcome to talk about the stupid financial things you have done.
