What famous investing quote reminds you of your investing style?
For example...
"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest."
"Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful."
"If you watch the pennies the dollars take care of themselves."
"Every once in a while, the market does something so stupid it takes your breath away."
etc...
etc...
etc...
For me, it has to be, "If you watch the pennies the dollars will take care of themselves" because my Dad used to tell me that all the time!

Technically not an investing quote...

I’ll just go with the first two sayings of the OP because they ring a bell.tvubpwcisla wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 6:54 pm"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest."
"Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful."
The first I think applies in my case because I studied a lot of investing books to develop my plan. Now of course the first saying isn’t specific to investing; nevertheless the knowledge I’ve accumulated really has formed a strong basis for me. And with that solid basis, the second saying above really is more silly than sensible. Greed and fear don’t come in to play at all in my investment decisions. The emotions that do accompany my investment thinking are confidence and satisfaction.

"Successful investing involves doing just a few things right and avoiding serious mistakes."--John C. Bogle
As for Warren Buffett's "Be fearful when others are greedy and be greedy when others are fearful,” that is not my style because I can't tell whether "others" are being greedy or whether they are being fearful. I settle for staying the course in a total market index fund, and then I know that whenever others are being greedy, I am being less greedy, and when others are being fearful, I am being less fearful--and I can do it without being able to assess the mood of the market.

Your first quote is very similar to Charlie Munger's:
It's this quote that stays with me. I hope to consistently achieve "not stupid".“It is remarkable how much long-term advantage people like us have gotten by trying to be consistently not stupid, instead of trying to be very intelligent.”

There are many quotes that remind me of my investing style, whatever that really is. Here's one I like because it reminds me that behavioral finance isn't just about errors other investors make, but that I make:

Re: What famous investing quote reminds you of your investing style?
Not exactly famous but,
Buying an elephant for a dime is only a good deal if you need an elephant and you have a dime.
That may be relevant when people are deciding to take a monthly pension or a lump sum.

Not a famous investing quote, but I want it to become one. From The Wire:
Avon: You come in here, you get your mind right, you only do two days. The day you come in...
Stringer: The day you get out.
They’re talking about doing time, of course. But it’s no different than investing. There are only two days that matter: the day you buy; the day you sell. Everything else is just noise.
