Re: Percentage of Net Worth in Equities
I’m at around 80% right now which is what I wanted my AA to be at the beginning of this year.
At the beginning of October I think I was up to 90%. Bear market is doing me a favor by instantly dropping me down to my desired AA.
I think I’m learning a lesson but I wish it wasn’t such an expensive one. Three years of after tax gross income down the drain

My target allocation in my investment portfolio is 70% equities, but I had never thought to calculate percent of net worth before.
The equity portion of my portfolio is a bit over 50% of my net worth right now.

I'm 100% Wellesley Income Fund, so 30-50% equities the balance bonds. I have 10% cash which is in SCHO a 1-3 year treasury fund for any needed short term cash, which I never need.

Right now, about 45%. Most of the rest is home equity, which is steadily rising as we pay off our mortgage and our home appreciates (10% per year for the last four years).

15% equities, 35% bonds, 50% rental properties.
This post is a work of fiction. Any similarity to real financial advice is purely coincidental.

Bearing in mind that covers my fairly accurate net worth. Per the many other silly threads on here, you'd best define net worth for all the BH that are too befuddled to understand that net worth = assets minus liabilities. Some people won't count their house in their net worth, let alone other items.
I had a government job where I had a somewhat specialized security clearance and had to provide a net worth assessment every year that required me to itemize every item or groups of items over $5,000. So if your beer can collection collectively broke $5,000 they wanted to know about it. Consequently my net worth is pretty specific. I would argue that is unnecessary for most purposes, but the basic NW=A-L is indisputable.
This is probably one of the last net worth threads I will post in. [OT comment removed by admin LadyGeek]

Re: Percentage of Net Worth in Equities
Agree. Net worth is assets minus liabilities. Very strange that others define it differently. Any asset can be sold it doesn’t matter if you live in the asset or drive the asset. One could talk about investments instead of desires.GCD wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 5:42 pm 68.6%

No more than 25-35%, rough estimate.
Re: Percentage of Net Worth in Equities
65----95% stock 5% cash which is 2 years of living. Will take SS when I'm 70 or feel like I've lost to much in stock. 45 years investing no bonds.
Re: Percentage of Net Worth in Equities
6.5% not including hedges. Hedges included, direct equity exposure is zero or slightly negative currently. However there are other assets with positive correlation to equities in the portfolio, namely certain debt instruments. Those assets are also hedged, but not fully.

What is the correct answer to this question?

59 yo retired couple with allocation of investments at 50% equities. We own our home so equities are 41% of net worth. No pension.
