Unsure how much this weighs on anything.
And the day was looking sunny two hours ago
Just be happy you don't have an allocation heavily tilted toward TIPS and international equities (like I do) because at the moment they are both in the House of Pain. Oh yeah, and my Barrick Gold funny money stock is almost -2%.

I don't know how many saw the Powell Press Conference yesterday, but, as a Bloomberg headline puts it, "Powell Breaks Out the ‘Froth’ Word When Asked About Markets". link

So, froth. Not a word you wanna hear the Fed chairman say. It's like talking about STD's on a first date.

Maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't wish for the market to have such a heavy thrust higher. Maybe just a little green, like we're currently seeing, is just what the doctor ordered.

I think we have all been taught that over the last decade. I am pleased with the 700% gain I am sitting on and not particularly worried about MSFT's future.

I think it’s just a suckers dip, FOMO will kick in by end of day and back up we go. “Weighing” is well underway and so far earnings have been strong.

Right, but aren't you essentially saying prediction isn't necessary to make money? And market timers aren't necessarily predicting, either. For example, if I go all cash on 200-day moving average, I'm just going to safety; I'm not predicting anything.

We have been retired since 2007 and living on SS, pensions and withdrawals. Portfolio has increased and is near ATH. I am beginning to believe that 500 stocks is too many and if there were an S&P 100 it would do better.

BKLC is close for an index fund. Around 200 in it's holdings.

BNY Mellon US Large Cap Core Equity ETF and it's 0 fees. No wavers. First ETF to do so.
There's also DIA/DOW 30. :)

But if I had to pick 30, I would prefer a different set.

I think it's because Apple said they expect to be impacted by chip shortages for their Macs/iPads.

Apple CFO Luca Maestri confirmed that Apple has seen an impact from the chip shortages and will see a sequential decline of approximately $3 to $4 billion revenue in Q3 2021 due to ‌iPad‌ and Mac supply constraints.

The S&P is soaring nicely, especially against the backdrop of miserable international.

That is why I finally pulled the trigger and dumped International a month ago. It had a good run in 2020, but c'est la vie.

Sure - two Bogle dollars that the market finishes below 4200 tomorrow. Fridays lately have been up days, so I am predicting a Friday mean reversion. Too many up Fridays lately.

Or the opposite - momentum will keep going, "FOMO Fridays" will continue and it will finish above 4220.

Or - international outperforms the S&P 500 by 0.50% or more tomorrow. We'll use VOO and VXUS for simplicity.

I'll take any bet. They're just Bogle dollars, after all, and nobody knows nothin'. :happy

I'll bet you a Bogle dollar that it closes below 4200.
Closed at 4211.

Double or nothing for Friday?
Sure - two Bogle dollars that the market finishes below 4200 tomorrow. Fridays lately have been up days, so I am predicting a Friday mean reversion. Too many up Fridays lately.

Or the opposite - momentum will keep going, "FOMO Fridays" will continue and it will finish above 4220.

Or - international outperforms the S&P 500 by 0.50% or more tomorrow. We'll use VOO and VXUS for simplicity.

I'll take any bet. They're just Bogle dollars, after all, and nobody knows nothin'. :happy
The real money is in Boglecoins.
Seems like the basic currency should be Boglebucks.
Bogle whatever you want it to be. Just as long as it's a U.S. based currency.

I laugh everytime I see charts with the Russell 2k and the others together. It's so much more volatile and zig zagging all over the place like a wandering lost child.
Some of us have a special place in our heart for that wandering lost child :P

Apparently, it's the biggest monthly rally since November.
