I have been in QQQ for about 15 years. I have a lot of "accumulated overperformance" compared to SPY.

But sometimes you do it right.
Most of the time, you state, unequivocally, that this is the top.
THIS time you used the words, "possibly", AND you even referenced November as a backup prediction. You're slowly learning. Very slowly, but you are learning. A smarter person would have said "in the future" or "in the next year", instead of "November", but you still have a chance for 40 days.
In any case, you were wrong about the third quarter, even though you tried to include October later in Q3.
(Should anyone take financial advice from someone who doesn't even understand a basic concept like which months fall in each quarter? - I leave that up to the reader to decide)

And the bull goes on....Forester wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 7:13 am This bull run is like 90% of Jazz Music - very pleasant & impressive for a period of time; but after a while it outstays its welcome and you want it to end. I am a humble Millennial accumulator. To quote President Reagan:

There's a reason it's called an epic everything bubble. We need more euphoria. We need more capitulation of bears.
Although I consider these levels risky I have to assume the bulls are still in control and the Q4 top timeline is too soon. As I said previously, why not a Q1 surprise? The grueling winter months, with pleasant memories of turkey, ham, and festive cheer long past, would make thematic backdrop to stock market catastrophe.

Previous high was nearly two months ago, inflation is over 5%; a true new high would be 4,560.

Heh. Keep moving those goal posts.
We also received quarterly dividends Sept 30th. If we're going to include inflation, we need to include dividends as well.

Prior intraday all-time high was 4,545 SPX total return index, 36 trading days ago, inflation is at 5.39% therefore SPX needed to surpass 4,580 on Friday which did not happen.
For example the Argentine stock market makes new highs all the time but this is not necessarily a cause for celebration, real return must be accounted for.

As a life-long Tesla skeptic, I will gladly admit that making a deal for 100,000 cars is big news. I can see all rental majors following suit if it works out. Combined with a new more profitable battery tech for lower end cars and a price bump on a few models, I think a pop is reasonable on this news.Nathan Drake wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 12:59 pm Tesla delivered a few more vehicles

It's a big deal because even if you view it as Hertz trying to drum up publicity coming out of bankruptcy it shows how a well known company wants to transition its vehicle fleet to electric because they believe the maintenance cost will benefit them long term.z3r0c00l wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 1:20 pmAs a life-long Tesla skeptic, I will gladly admit that making a deal for 100,000 cars is big news. I think retail investors conflate all of Elon's moonshot business ideas on the bullish case for Tesla like they will eventually all be one thing so that Tesla is somehow Tesla, SpaceX, Boring, Starlink, Neuralink but really it's still only Tesla the car company and Tesla energy to a lesser extent.

No and there we agree, but to the extent that the prior market cap was reasonable or unreasonable, a 10-15% pop on major news is more reasonable than say just another reddit push.Nathan Drake wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 2:55 pmNothing seems reasonable about a 1T market cap to me.z3r0c00l wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 1:20 pmAs a life-long Tesla skeptic, I will gladly admit that making a deal for 100,000 cars is big news. It's really impossible to predict anything. FB misses on revenue, user growth and guides lower, yet the stock is up. I suppose you can argue it has come down since its peak, but otherwise, I'd expect the stock to be getting slammed.
Re: U.S. stocks continue to soar!
If Facebook stock rallies we would have six U.S. companies at a one trillion dollar or more marketcap: Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet(Google), Amazon, Tesla, and Facebook.Nathan Drake wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 2:55 pmNothing seems reasonable about a 1T market cap to me.z3r0c00l wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 1:20 pmAs a life-long Tesla skeptic, I will gladly admit that making a deal for 100,000 cars is big news. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that any of these companies existed 50 years ago.
I wonder what the six largest companies will be in 2071 (50 years from now)? I wonder if any of these six will make the cut?

It's really crazy though, if they beat earnings the stocks go up, if they miss...they just announce buybacks and the stocks go up.
