Yes; further more, active portfolio has more conservative AA 80/20, where as passive portfolio is 85/15.
I did some tactical moves in H1 on the active portfolio like selling some of small cap when they went up 70% YoY and energy index which spiked 50% is six months.

401(k): +10.81%
HSA / Roth IRA / Fun Money brokerage @ Fidelity: +4.85% combined

The Roth and brokerage accounts contain some individual stocks that didn't do well compared to where they were in January. Oh, well. They're still in the black.

Main brokerage and Roth IRA @ Vanguard: 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I expect around 10%, AA is 70/30)

YTD (30 June 2021) returns of a few 60/40 funds for your viewing pleasure:

+6.91% VSMGX Vanguard LifeStrategy Moderate Growth fund, has US + International
+8.30% VBIAX Vanguard Balanced Index fund, has US only and no international
+9.48% DGSIX, DFA Global Allocation 60/40 I fund, a small-cap and value tilted 60/40 asset allocation

Once again, the performance of a 60/40 portfolio varies by quite a bit depending on how the 60/40 is constituted.

Also note:
+34.52% AVUV Avantis US Small Cap Value ETF
+7.67% MTUM iShares MSCI USA Momentum Factor ETF
-1.69% VBTLX Vanguard US Bond Index fund

The S&P 500 returned 14% YTD.

My portfolio returned 13.5% YTD, according to the Returns Spreadsheet. Didn't beat the index, but came close. :D

I FIRE'd 12 months ago at the age of 54.
Pension covers about 60% of expenses.
With a 60/40 portfolio during the past year of drawdown, I am up 20%!
For the YTD, I am up 8.4%.

I have one account that looks exactly like that. Another at 10.5%. Somewhere between 8-12% for an aggressive portfolio of index funds with a stable AA seems healthy.

Edit: One can see the timing variances. For one year, I'm about 34%, give or take a couple percent. A lot of folks with big YTD numbers are nevertheless about the same as my portfolio for the 1 year mark.

We figure our changes in an ongoing manner based on +/- after expenses and income from SS and a small pension. At this point we are up 8.5% in portfolio value YTD after expenditures. Key contributor is tilt to SCV.

This is also the way that I measure it. It’s all about the Benjamin’s. I don’t care where they come from, as long as they show up in droves.

According to Vanguard's calculation, our total Vanguard assets as of 07/25/2021, compared to 12/31/2020 are 8.02% higher.

Of course we have distributed about $44,000 thus far from our TIRAs.

Our AA is 55% equities 45% bonds.

It has been a good year, for sure.

YTD, using IRR calculations, I am up 105.7%. Definitely unexpected to see portfolio more than doubling in about half a year.

Buying some call options during the dark days of the covid crisis helped juice returns a little, but most of the gains came from the portfolio's heavy concentration in just two equity positions at the start of the year. Portfolio return would have been even better had I not sold my options too early in retrospect. The options I sold went on to more than double in value.

64% of my portfolio is currently in one stock and 36% in cash (selling cash-secured puts for yield).
