You could look at what the cost the landlord would need to spend in fixing or replacing things in your apartment if you move out. Such as carpeting, painting, and replacing counters etc. A rent increase of around five hundred dollars a year may not be worth it to the landlord if you stay in the apar...

Our daughter watches our dog when we are on vacation, and we watch her dogs when she and her husband are on vacation. Works out very well.

I don't tip firefighters, police officers, and politicians, as it might look like a bribe even though they are providing great service. I normally tip 15% to wait staff at restaurants never at fast food or buffet type food outlets.

If this is a smaller town and a smaller police department ask the police call taker/ dispatcher, to dispatch the officer over the phone instead of the police radio.

You may want to look at a Kahr 380, a little more expensive very solid dependable weapon with the right ammunition. It's a very good pocket gun for up close encounters.

Pretty sure the kids can't legally block the sidewalk with their stand, call the police. They their mother to set up the stand in front of their home not yours. You could also just set up a couple tables on the sidewalk to take away any room for theirs.

Sounds like a scam to me. It doesn't matter why the scammer (hospital) does it or what they use the money for. It's still a scam. Patients need to ask and the provider needs to fully inform you of the cost before the procedure.

If you are staying in the USA, New York City would be a good choice. In Europe, Brussels, Barcelona, Paris, Edinburgh. Mexico City, Montreal and Buenos Aires are good bets too. Have fun!!!

I've been to Bend many many times. We just sold our 2004 Honda CRV to our daughter an never had a problem with it. It's been in deep snow, ice and rain always very dependable. We know have our second Jeep, it's been very good to.

My wife is 62 and on SSDI, I am 64 and plan on filling a restricted application for spousal benefits when I turn 66 and file for my own at 70. Is this still possible? Thanks for the help.

I'm not boglehead with my beer, I am at the point of my life I drink what I really enjoy. Mostly Imperial double IPA, my favorites are from Barley Brown Brewery in Baker City Oregon. I would recommend any of their IPAs.

I would call the General Manager of the Dealership and try to resolve the issue with him/her, and follow up your complaint if not satisfied with customer relations of car manufacturer. I do think they are entitled to a fee to diagnose the problem but they need to tell you that first.

Similar situation as yours, I retired at 51 and went to a less than %half time position 7 years and then retired completely. Ours pension has a 2% cola and a 457b that you had to start taking at age 70.5, I transferred mine to an IRA at Vanguard. Pay off your loans and try to say as much as you can ...

Check the social security website, i believe your mother can take a spousal benefit when she reaches full retirement age an then take her benefit when she reaches 70.
