Some choices are 4 runner, Jeep, Lexus LX, some 4 x 4 truck, Toyota land cruiser. If you are going to carry equipment/rods for surf casting and Kayaks, a truck will better fit your needs for easy access to equipment and more storage.

In old movies or old pictures you rarely see new cars. Now, I look around. Never see a car older than 10 yrs. Never see, for example an old Benzo or old Bmer around. I go to the mall and don't see one single clunker. It is strange. A quick Google tells me that the average age of cars in the US is 1...

Rather than buy new tires, it might be worth your time to investigate sound deadening/sound isolation systems/mats/blanket/insulation. You would basically apply these materials in your wheel wells and body panels to deaden the sound. Here's a video of someone installing these mats in the wheel well...

My brain hurts when I say this but, maybe you need a financial advisor. You seem to mix emotions and feelings with investing a little too much. You may be a prime candidate for a low fee advisor.

Your current job doesn't sound all that bad to me. I'd wait for the layoffs (if they even happen). If you think you are bored now, just wait until you get a gov't role doing what you are doing now. You may need alignment and balancing. That said, stock pirelli run-flats are awful. You need to switch to non run-flats if you want less road noise and comfort. Michelin pilot 4s are the best tire around for street use. They have zero noise. I run them all year round but I am in California. They are...

It depends on your expectations.
