trad 401k + mega back door Roth contributions.
For most people, maxing your AGI reductions makes the most sense.
Further, with a Roth 401k, you're stuck with your company's investment vehicles...put that tax free money to better work.

10% of contribution is not a good match, but you're still probably better off maxing the 401k/403b and reducing your taxable income now. If you can max that out, do so and put any extra into a Roth/backdoor Roth. Would also read the wiki page on asset allocation. Sounds like you're just starting out...

Although not a recent offering we are watching Fargo. Finishing up season 2. Quirky but enjoyable. Season 1-3 are fabulous. We can't really get into season 4. Yes, 4 is the weakest. Too many side stories and characters, and relied too heavily on deus ex machina. My favorite order: 2, 1, 3, 4.

I don't think you will find many that fit your characterization on here; more self reliance over altruism.

If there's no rate break over a 15 year (there rarely is), then there's no point.
refi to a 15 year, and pay extra every month to get it paid off in 10.
might also reduce the up front closing costs.

The only bond fund available in my 401k includes ~26% corporate bonds.
The stable value has averaged about 2.2% over the past decade (with ER factored in).
