Thanks all for the perspectives. After a lot of thought, I have decided to pass on the membership. The buy in and initiation were too high to justify. That, and my wife and kids didn’t seem that into it, so it would be an indulgence just for me.

Maybe its just past its bottom on the depreciation curve but the E60 M5 is a classic. Enough people are scared off by the rod bearing issues to make them affordable. The styling has aged well, and the engine is the last of its kind.

Taking a guess, its the radar/lidar sensors for adaptive cruise and other driving aids. Car manufacturers haven't figured out an aesthetically pleasing way to integrate that hard black plastic into the car fascia. Most stick it under the logo on the grill and it looks awful. This is a bit better.

+ 1 to the Portofino Bay and having express passes at busy times. Also look at pricing out the club option at Portofino, especially if traveling with kids. It is stocked with snacks and dishes all day. We used it enough to not have to eat out at all.

The other thing you have to do is sign up for an ssa account to generate a w-2 in January. Factor in the ssa and Medicare deductions too. And make it clear to them as to who pays the employer part and who pays the employee part.

Consider a late model Kia Sedona. We love ours - it's tech and fit/finish are a cut above, plus they depreciate quickly. You should be able to pick up a 2016 with 30K miles for about 15K.

Check out Grand Velas in Los Cabos. Food is top notch. They have 4-5 really good restaurants on site - 2 to 3 cuts above your usual fare and one of them is Michelin rated. Only con is that while the beach is beautiful, it is not swim able due to rip tides.
