My previous insurance left the state. I did do auto thru them by merely duplicating the coverage I had previously. Their quoting machine will let you shuffle different coverage's and you see the quote update on line almost immediately. I saved $400 on a 6 month quote. I had to do the online driving course and subscribe to True Lane for an extra 10%. Driving course was semi-brutal to be able to hang on to the end over several days for me. I still have 4 months left on my home insurance, then the hunt begins. The do not write Home Ins in Fl.
They sent me an email wondering if I would be willing to teach a local course on driving. [I did not respond ]

Get a 20" gas mower from WAL.... for $200. Add 2 year warranty for $16. At the end of 2 years, put old one in a garage sale then repeat. You probably don't even need to change oil etc unless you feel the need.

Last effort was RMD, conformations and finding the 2024 suggested version of my RMD and trying to manage the percentages etc. I had several spinning red circles for 5-10 seconds before any data showed up if at all.

Drove my new Kia home in 2012, parked it in the garage. Next morning noticed large puddle of ATF on the floor. [Has one of those trans that does not have a dip stick or is not servicable] Dealer told me to drive it to them. 2 days later, said they fixed it. Someone or some machine did not seal the transmission cover to the transmission. Still have it here in 2024 and no problems, smooth shifts etc.

Mine was furnished by the VA, top model when I got them (1 yr ago). Yes the behind the ear ones can be troublesome. Yes interference when wearing glasses, rubbing is intensified in the ear. When face masks were in "fashion", you have the hearing air, glasses and string from the mask all fighting for the same position on top of the ear. Very seldom could I remove the mask without the strings also removing the hearing aid. Without glasses and masks, it is tolerable. My version can send and receive phone calls thru the hearing aid, yet to try it. Watching/listening to TV is better suited for me by not using the hearing aids, but by using wireless headphones for a much, much better experience. Sound is in stereo, highs and lows are pe...

Re: Found rodent droppings on engine, any cause for further concern?
Major problem with squirrels on my outside parked truck. First noticed droppings in the engine bay. Air intake comes thru the fender well sealed with a piece of foam that was missing. Looked at the air filter, was full of nuts and nesting material. Fixed that by putting a 1/2" screen over the fender well opening. One day noticed the smell of gas, upon investigation, found fuel being pumped out of the fuel tank when the engine was on. This one, had vehicle towed to mechanic, he found they had eaten thru the fuel line on top of the tank. Had to drop tank and replace hoses and plastic right angle connector. $400. I'm @ war with those B.....ds. In city limits, can't use something I wish I could.

I do the same, but it is for me. I only do it once per year. I also adjust the the withholding rate based on my current tax return. Adjust if necessary.secondcor521 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 6:38 pm My Dad's is all automated and has been for years. Vanguard calculates the RMD every year, divides it by 12, does a monthly transfer from IRA to his Vanguard taxable account of that amount, and withholds federal taxes on it. (They don't do state withholding for his state, but that's manageable for us.)
All we do is check to make sure they calculated it correctly (just to be responsible - they've never made a mistake). And once a year at tax time I adjust the withholding percentage based on his evolving tax situation.

On W10, once I start Q, see the quicken deluxe screen and then immediately to enter password. Nothing else, no banks etc. Been using Q with entries dating back to 2003.
One "problem" I notice is, that after an update/restart and returns to the enter password message, the focus for that entry is not in the area where the first entry should be. My password goes somewhere . I have to purposely place the cursor where the first entry is in the password box. Any other time it defaults there as it should.

So, if you shop around, does your present insurance company know it. I asked for a quote from one agent and then shortly thereafter started receiving "meaningless" quotes from other agents of the same company. This is been going on for 4 years now. I wonder if companies have a common data base they can search and find out who is looking? I print out my current coverage minus all references to the present company when I ask for quotes in person.

Nothing against Generac, but my neighbor across the street,(Elderly care facility, required by the state to have one), has a NG Generac generator installed outside the garage wall. It is pretty loud. The first couple of times it ran, I thought it was a road crew or something. My house is pretty well insulated, block walls, double pain windows etc. but you can definitely hear it when it is on. I am toying with the idea of getting one, but using NG (most convenient) might be expensive and NG is lower power producing then Propane, gas.

Mine hums or makes noise sometimes. One hum was when the ice maker was in heat mode trying to eject the cubes. Once they hit the tray it was quiet again. Other hums were positioning of food making the tray rattle/hum. I usually grab each shelf and move it slightly to see if any changes are made. Sometimes I have use small pieces of foam under the shelf and the support. I have a wine cooler now that I have yet to solve. If I put slight pressure on the side the noise stops but returns within a minute or so. It is level. Makes me test the wine and see if it is cool.

Just a meaningless comment. I have 2 pair of Sennheiser over the ear wireless headphones. I often have different volumes in my ear and it changes from program to program. I think it is audio programing doing that. i.e. a vehicle driving left to right is loud in the left ear and then quiet as the vehicle moves to the right. Good stereo recording will change according to what instrument is located left, right or in the middle.

Unfortunately I'm not the original owner. After you replaced the cartridge, did the handle ever get stiff again? How long has it been and is it in a kitchen faucet that's heavily used? Thanks. These were mainly bathroom faucets, builder grade, if that has anything to do with it. But yes the stiffness returned in about a year or so. The next time I called, they knew me by name {phone # probably] and sent me replacements without many questions. They either send instruction on how to change them out or point you to a moen web address for that info. You should know the model # of your faucet before you call. I have described the little blue/red "button" before to get the correct part number. I had one faucet in the master bath go bad and called for a replacement, the agent asked if I had another one in the master bath as well? I said yes, so she supplied me with 2 instead of one. Twice this month, I have had problems with delivery. One item was supposed to be delivered the next day. It was delayed again and again. Then finally said delivery today, tracked it, it was on the truck, seemed like it was very near to the house and then nothing. Status reverted to processing, then more delays, finally they admitted they cannot find the package. Refund or reorder??? I did refund. #2 order was also the next day, then delay, delay and delay and then out of the blue, delivered by USPS. In other instances, ordered in the morning and was delivered that afternoon. ??? My renewal is coming up in one month, hard choice. Even local big box stores when you want something, they say they have to order it, will be in a couple of days.

In spite of balancing accounts, I find the report function very valuable. Reports for food cost's [by store if wanted] over the last week, month year etc take about 10 seconds. So many other things utilities, auto expenses, gasoline and so on. Everything auto downloads with ease. If I had to do it manually, then I probably would not. To me, this is so much better than drawers full of statements. File is backed up every 3 starts with quicken.

Squirrels can still climb the pole but stop near the top and look at the pine cones. They become motionless as they slowly slide back down the pole, great fun They don't seem to have enough "grippage" to jump to the feeder.

Just did an Edmunds valuation on the web for the truck and got an offer for $13,400.00 [Low to me?] I have been able to do all the maintenance since new with exception of warranty type items. Biggest cost is tires that begin to dry rot way before the mileage warranty. Both vehicles cost ~ $950 each /6months. I have already "beat up" the agent for discounts for no accidents, low mileage etc. Sticking with them due to the low insurance for the house ~ 1k for the year. Neighbors pay...

I am listed as principal driver of the pickup and she is principal driver of the SUV. The SUV is used 95% of the time, the pickup is used when needed to carry stuff here and there. Wondering what the rates would do if she was removed from the automobile insurance policy and keeping both vehicles?? Just trying to get an idea before I call the agent.
