I use them, and I like them, mostly. If you’re just starting, I’d recommend them while you learn the ropes. For a sub $500k managed portfolio, I think they provide enough to justify their fee. Why not look into a 20 or a 15 year loan? You get a break on the interest rate too.

Only bought one in my life. Bought one from Geico for $300 in 1991 for a Toyota Corolla. The Toyota dealer wanted $700. Worked out great. The alternator went up and cost $300. Geico paid with no problems.
