Re: Ski Resort Recommendations for the first-timers? (emphasis on resort)
Consider Whistler/Blackcomb, great ski town, fabulous mountains. About 1- 1.5 hours out of Vancouver. Green runs high up on both mountains. Low base elevation so altitude sickness less likely (unlike at Breck, A Basin, Keystone, Copper). +1. Of everywhere I've been I thought this had the best "...

My efile tax return keeps getting rejected by the IRS (and subsequently state) with the error that the "AGI or PIN is incorrect." I have gone back and checked and rechecked. The AGI is definitely our AGI from last year. Additionally, we filed a paper return last year and don't have a PIN....

However, I have also attempted putting "O" in for the AGI and "1" (both tips I read somewhere). All have been rejected. OP, just to be sure... the advice has been to use a zero and not the Letter "O". I'm pretty sure that's what you meant in your original post, but I j...

You don't have to go to the Post Office to mail your return. You can put in any mailbox to mail it including the one at your home. I'm sure there is a way, but I don't know how to get tracking on it and/or have it registered if I just drop it in my mailbox. Plus I just don't want to burn that much ...

I figured it out. I actually did the tIRA section correctly, but in the "Wages and Income" section I accidentally answered "yes" to the "have you received any income from IRAs, Annuities, etc." section and then left it at 0. So TT was trying to create a 1099-R for that....

My takeaway was the main point of it was to get you to a certain $ number with the minimal amount of risk, NOT to maximize your average portfolio return.
