Re: Apple ... stay the course or scale back?

How are fellow BH's responding if by chance they have Apple in their portfolios. Rebalance or stay the course? My immediate concern is the Federal government according to the newswires "might" take Ap;ple to court on another antitrust suit which definitely will impact the share price. What say you? A bit late to this topic however I think there are two answers already provided that summarize how I would approach it. What does your IPS say? If your IPS allows for purchasing individual stocks for whatever reason then it should likely also define the entry and exit criteria to use. One criteria should be what portfolio limit you are willing to allow for each individual stock holding. As others have suggested, 5% is not out of line. ...

Re: Suggestion: add a poll feature

Polls Disabled After consultation with the Advisory Board, I have disabled polls on this site. The general problem with self-selecting polls is that the results only tell you only about those who chose to respond to the poll. They cannot be relied on as reflecting the broader will of the participants of this forum, nor can they give any clear insights into the question asked. With written answers (beyond the pointless "+1"), a reader at least has the opportunity to review the respondent's reasoning for his or her answer. In addition to the lack of utility of polls, they required a disproportionate amount of moderator effort and were usually in violation of our requirements that posts be both personal and actionable. For some background ... A Slice of Pi (π) Day History | Exploratorium March 14 is Pi (π) Day, the annual celebration of a never-ending number—and Albert Einstein’s birthday. How did pi inspire a national holiday and an international celebration thousands of years after its discovery? It all started at the Exploratorium with former staff physicist, tinkerer, and media specialist Larry Shaw. In 1988, three years after the death of Exploratorium Founder Frank Oppenheimer, staff gathered at a retreat in Monterey, California, to soul search and brainstorm. It was there that Shaw linked March 14 (3.14) with the digits of pi (3.14159…), seeing it as an extraordinary opportunity to bring Exploratorium staff together. And π Day was born. On the firs...

To the original question, I think the approach that Valuethinker suggests is likely the line of thought to take. Canada is a very large country so there really isn't a 'Canadian housing market', it is very regional. The Great Vancouver and Greater Toronto areas have long been thought to be overpriced and due for a correction. However pundits have been prediction the imminent correction for many, many years while prices have continued to climb skyward. The large Canadian banks are very well capitalized and regulated. Re: What are you listening to now

Continuing on my live album theme, A Night in San Francisco Van Morrison. A double album that I'm really enjoying.

Re: How much are you down\up from the top set in 2021?

No idea. That's not a metric I track or check.

Isn't a key element of the Bogleheads philosophy to accept market returns via low-cost indexing?

Is so, why worry about who much you are up or down since it is a natural function of the market to go up and down?

Re: Microsoft edge Version 120.0.2210.61 Save to PDF bug

PSA for those using Microsoft Edge, Why 'Save as Pdf' is not working properly on Edge browser? - Microsoft Community. The PDF download hangs at the very end. I've also noticed that file downloads tend to stutter for a few seconds at the end of the download, however they do complete, unlike the PDF downloads.

It seems to have been introduced in the most recent update to Version 120.0.2210.61 (Official build) (64-bit). I can reproduce the problem on both WIndows 11 and Linux Mint versions of Edge 120.

Never hunts to remind members of this netiquette. Please be courteous to your fellow Bogleheads.
