I've tracked our expenses. Non-discretionary spending is approximately two-thirds of total spending. It was valuable for me to see what it would take for me to get by without the extras if I ever need to.

Thank you for your reply. One can look at it from different angles, and the fact is we don’t know which is the correct way. VTI and VOO have an 83% composition overlap by weight. Is that low enough?
