The 90 probationary period goes both ways - they can toss you or you can toss them.

As many others have suggested I would simply list it as a job (so there are no gaps in employment - though you could claim that during a gap you were actively looking for work). If during an interview someone asks why so short a job stint then matter-of-factly say it wasn't a good fit for either of you.

Are you using tax software to prepare your return?

If so, consider using the "Document ID" shown on the VG 1099 that you got to download the 1099 data directly from VG. This does not require logging into VG, so my buddy tells me.

Then see if the downloaded info is also missing the info you need. If so, then it sounds like a call to VG is warranted.

A crude estimation isn't that hard. Do you know what your marginal tax rate (tax bracket) will be when ignoring the RMD? Take that % and multiply it by the RMD amount and that is about how much extra tax you'll pay with the RMD included in income.

It is a crude guess because the RMD itself could push you into the next tax bracket either partially or wholly.

As a general rule, try to keep fixed income (such as bonds) in tIRAs and anything that might eventually become a tIRA (like a t401k). Try to keep efficient stock funds in rIRA and taxable. If you can't fit all your bond-like holdings in tIRA & t401k and need to use taxable accounts, then determine whether to use tax-exempt bond funds vs something like Treasuries (the earning from which may be state-tax exempt.)

Sounds like you are on the right path overall.

Started investing in the 1970s. Subscribed to Money Magazine. TRP would run full-and-half-page ads. VG ran tiny little ads so I missed them. I called up my Brother-In-Law who was a bond trader on Wall Street and asked him what to do. He said that TRP was okay but make sure I only bought "no-load" products.

That was my introduction. Started up with VG in 1991 and switched completely to VG in 2002.

"Service advisors" at dealerships are on commission. Reason enough. Another one. They often won't let you speak to the mechanic. (True at some independent shops, as well.) Another one. Look at all those people at the dealership front area sitting around in front of computer monitors. They have to be paid. Another one. Dealership shops have a target amount to bill customers for every car that comes in. An Audi shop would want to try to get probably $1500 every time a car is brought in. In for an oil change, out for whatever they can find and sell. Of course, for a car under warranty, it's a different matter. Good recommendation about thrift stores. I had two, virtually new (little worn) Hart-Shaffner-Marx suits I'd long outgrown :( that I donated to Goodwill. So you just never know what will show up there.

Re: Pay cleaning lady for snow day?

I cancel I pay anyway. She cancels doesn't get paid. I give a VERY LARGE $$$ Christmas present for the last service before Christmas.

I had to move out of state for 5 months in 2017 and continued to pay her the entire time (if nothing more than to check on the house in my absence.)
