Assuming that you've taken the depreciation deductions, watch out for depreciation recapture. You might want to talk with a tax person.

Thank you, all! The rate resets quarterly. They likely announce it, but not in a way that's obvious. I can download the plan docs whenever I want. I'll have to check if they restrict "sale" of the SVF. I don't think that they do. A couple of years ago, I had asked if it made sense to contr...

401K future contributions to bond or stable value fund?
Hello everyone, I'll be 47 this year. I figure I have 20 years to retirement. I'm about 75/25 across all of my accounts. The 401K represents about 83% of my investments and is about 80%/20%. I will admit that I am concerned about inflation and the printing of trillions of dollars being pumped into the system. "Printing/pumping money" doesn't mean what most people think it means. Your everyday loan literally creates money out of nothing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3lP3Bh...

if you are paying usury rates (25%-30% APR) on debt you are carrying , the insurance increase is the last of your problems. dont deal with symptom, instead address the root cause (high interest debt that is pulling you down the spiral). Yes, if you have a low credit score it will affect your ability to borrow money (maybe it should be a sign someone shouldn't be borrowing money). The other items are all very minor impacts if at all - state dependent and company dependent. And promotion impact due to credit score? That's a new one ...

For example, your auto / home / renter's insurance can increase. An employer might not hire you or you might not get the promotion you were expect...
