Re: New Vehicle Shopping - SUV or Hybrid, suggestions appreciated
I've been super happy with my Honda Passport. Can seat 5 and tow 5000lbs but still comfortable to cruise around town. I love the extra cargo space due to lack of 3rd row seating. Has it been reliable? I've considered the Honda Passport, but Consumer Reports gave it only 2/5 for reliability. 19000 m...

Re: A fantastic alternative to a Peloton (at least for me)
I have been indoor training for about 10 years and using Trainerroad since it came along. I switch from the Kickr to a dedicated Stages SB20 recently. Zwift bored me but many of my cycling buddies are addicted to the races.

Re: Health Trackers?
I have a bunch of cycling specific stuff but my Apple Watch has been the mainstay since 2015. Before that came out I had a fitbit. Strava and apple health are linked into cronometer.com where I track diet and nutrition. Cronometer probably isn't for everybody but if you are data geek its pretty good...

Re: What is the Worst Financial Decision/Mistake You Have Made?
I won;'t know if this was a mistake or not, but I'm certain it would have changed my life in almost every way..... I graduated in 1992 with a computer engineering degree. The job market wasn't great, but I had a few offer around the country. The offer that paid the most at the time was in San Jose,...

Re: Where to start with mega backdoor Roth IRA?
While I have nothing useful to add for the OP I do want to say that I am very jealous that so many have these features built in to their work plans. I assume these features cost the employer money. I am offered 401K and nothing else

Re: TESLA Valuation
My sister-in-law bought in to TSLA right before the split. I attempted to have a valuation discussion with her because she asked. Her reply to my misgivings about it was "Elon Musk is leading an industrial revolution that will change the world forever." With that kind of fervor around it I...

Re: is it ok to download Big Sur for MAC yet??
I tried Big Sur for a couple of weeks on my 2014 Macbook Air. I like the OS, but battery life was atrocious and scrolling in Safari was choppy and delayed. Ended up restoring a backup and going back to High Sierra. Newer machines likely won't have the battery life issue. I installed it on my 2nd co...

Re: Commuting after COVID
Based on company culture it is a certainty that we will all be back in the office as soon as it is feasible to do so. That being said I have had two employees inform me that they have moved to a different state in the last four months and while they hope that "the company will come with me"...

Re: Buying a 1.3M house - worried about unexpected expenses
In Seattle I assume this is par for the course, and the next house you look at will be the same deal. FWIW I have sold 3 and bought 4 homes in my life and have never had an inspector discover something worth walking away from the purchase for - even if later something did manifest. The last home we ...

I know the Dell curved UltraWides (34" and 38") are highly regarded, but not sure I want to spend close to a grand without test driving it. Something like this Samsung can be bought for <$300 but I'm guessing there are multiple compromises - https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/u...

Re: Tax benefit with Deferred Compensation
Unlike the 401k plan (maxed) the extra deferred comp plan at my current employer requires an immediate disbursement if I chose to leave or get laid off prior to retirement. That would leave me with an unwelcome tax situation compared to putting the extra money in a taxable account and letting it gro...

I am considering buying a home in Arizona. My plan is to live there for about 6 months per year (roughly October through March). I'm looking at several communities throughout the state, and Saddlebrooke Ranch is among them. I will be staying there briefly in a few months, and am curious if any Bogl...

BTW.....we live in Wisconsin and plan to keep the unit outdoors. Any issues with the electronics (Blue tooth) that we need to be concerned about?
