Re: LG Washing Machine Issues

My LG washer has a 'Tub Clean' cycle that you run with the washer completely empty. No detergent is used, but I do add bleach to the bleach dispenser. It's amazing to see how much suds are produced during this cycle. It takes about 75 minutes or so. If your machine has the tub clean cycle, I suggest...

Need corrected 1099, issuer no longer in business

My father passed away in early 2020. He had rental properties in a trust, managed by a property management agency, and income was reported under his SSN. A tax id for the trust was established after his death, but the property management agency reported all 2020 income under his SSN, and none under ...

Re: Talk me into paying off my mortgage...

If paying off the mortgage would result in you not having to make withdrawals from the taxable account to cover living expenses, then yes paying it off makes sense. What's the advantage of making one big withdrawal from the taxable account now, rather than spacing them out? Nothing really. It's not...

Re: Talk me into paying off my mortgage...

We make withdrawls out of the taxable account to help cover living expenses. The reason i am considering paying off the mortgage early is due to our low earned income as i would like to wipe out our biggest expense and retire relatively early some day. If paying off the mortgage would result in you...

Re: Phone Scammer: "Read Letter Out Loud"???

I've received calls from my bank (Ally) that I was either expecting or otherwise was 99.999% sure were legitimate, but if they need information I tell them that since I didn't initiate the call I won't provide it. They always understand and give me a case number. I then call Ally, give them the case...

Re: Don't enjoy being a federal supervisor: is the problem with me?

I've been a supervisor for 4 years now, and the truth is that first year sort of sucks. It takes that long to get on your feet and adjust to your new role. Other than the drudgery of supervising others though, you need to realize the freedom you have to do things that make your team better. In my ca...

Re: Buying a House with Elderly Parent: Many Questions...

I recently went through this with my own father. In his case, the family started to see small signs of real problems about six or so months before it was clear that he just couldn't stay at home. And when that happened, things happened quickly. If you plan on one certain thing (such as buying a hous...

Re: VoIP phone: Any advice....

I was going to suggest using something like powerline adapters to bring a LAN connection closer to your telephone wiring, but I just noticed that there is a Ooma Telo Air that works over wifi, so that would fix that problem if you have wifi. I did the same thing a couple of years ago to ditch Centur...
