Re: I just bought individual stocks and a lot of them.

OP, I dabbled in dividend growth stocks for about a year or two. I read up about DGI, perused the Dividend Champion list, and followed some of the dividend investors on Seeking Alpha. I did my homework and selected only companies whose record of growth promised to underlie continued dividend growth....

George Howell FTW!

In the Boston area, it's tough to beat George Howell Coffee. GH was the founder of the late lamented Coffee Connection, which was bought out by Starbucks. As you know, SB proceeded to immolate the beautiful beans. Fortunately, GH founded a new chain of roasters. Their house coffee is a very nice Tar...

Re: Why is Gold so volatile even though it is claimed as store of value?

Re: H&R Block 2020 software offer

I forgot all about Cyber Monday, so I was pleased and surprised to see H&R Block Fed+State listed at 22.49 today.

Also our Prime membership paid off, due to multiple no-hurry and Prime-day shipping discounts stacking up. Bottom line was only $5.30!

Re: Willing to share your Taxable Portfolio?

I am only 50% Boglehead, and what happens to be in my taxable accounts is mainly a matter of history. Vanguard - This was my first investment account, and it started out 24 years ago with Vanguard S&P 500, Extended Market, Small Cap, Europe, Pacific, and Emerging. VTWAX wasn't available at the t...

In addition to your local shelters, I recommend Search Dog Foundation. They take dogs who are often too high energy for adoption, and train them as search and rescue dogs.

I took some profits in December and January. Between my spouse and I, we have about six years of expenses in cash and bonds. Not worried about income.

Long-time lurker who can respond to why you might choose a higher level of income to aim for when using ACA for healthcare coverage. We've been using ACA plans with subsidies for a few years now. Blue Cross Blue Shield is the only carrier that has all our doctors. I tried entering various estimates ...
