Re: Password manager
My recommendation is Bitwarden if you want to use a free one and don't need to share passwords with anyone. I'd recommend 1Password if you want the most spouse friendly one that is really easy to share vaults/passwords. And you don't mind paying for one. Bitwarden was great for me. But, when I had ...

Re: Is there a better meta-review site than Wirecutter?
For electronics I like to start at BH Photo. Not a meta review site, but the reviews seem to be fairly refined. They have 'expert picks' in major categories, and you can always pick up the phone and talk to a real person to talk through a purchase. Can't go wrong with https://www.bogleheads.org/foru...

Re: Laptop for aging parents
Thank you for the feedback everyone! For those of you with Chromebook experience, would a cell-phone data limit of 5-10gb be enough to get the job done? The hotspot would likely only get turned on when the Chromebook is in use, only about ~hour/day. I think a laptop is better option for my parents t...

Laptop for aging parents
Hello Bogleheads - I come in search of advice. My parents are in need of a laptop. Some considerations - needs to fit a tight(er) budget, but want something quality (I think the budget rules out a Mac) - they have currently have iPhones - teaching them to use said iPhones was not difficult, but they...

Re: Garage Organization
For shelves I used Knape & Vogt Fast Mount. A little pricy, but durable. Looks nice too.

+1 for Wall Control. Very satisfied.

Re: Cloud storage: Best cross-platform, family-shareable service? Google Drive / One vs. Dropbox vs. who else?
We had to choose a cloud option for our family a few years ago, choosing between Apple, Google, Microsoft, and OneDrive. Eventually went with Microsoft Office 365. We also looked at some of the lesser known but more privacy focused options. - We are a very Apple heavy family. But, I start a new phot...

Re: Detergent free laundry systems
Yes, we read that article several times. But my significant other (who can be picky about such things) was always satisfied with the result. It was the quality of the machine that we were mostly concerned with.

Detergent free laundry systems
Hi everyone, interested in gathering some opinions. My better half got interested in the detergent-free laundry systems a few years back. We tried PureWash, which uses ozone (supposedly) to clean the laundry. The concept is great - no (little) detergent, odor free, only use cold water, etc. We’ve ha...

Claiming vehicle depreciation
Dear Bogleheads - quick question. Can I claim vehicle depreciation on my taxes, for business use of a new vehicle purchased in 2018? I am a field based employee for a large corporation (I receive a W2). I am required to use my own vehicle for own travel, which is extensive. I am reimbursed every mon...

I've always heard good things about Speed Queen. Not the fanciest, but well built with nice warranty.

Re: Rebalance 401(k) and Roth
The 401k is traditional. Separate Roth. My wife doesn't currently have a Roth. She is a full time wife/mom (I have a really good life), can we still open a Roth for her, and max out her contributions? Using a backdoor Roth... I'll make sure to max 401k, I have not been doing this. You should max out...

Re: Rebalance 401(k) and Roth
Thank you for the responses! As I continue to put more into my retirement, would it make the most sense to do a backdoor Roth with the extra? I'm already maxing match to 401(k)
Disregard...megabad just answered. Thank you all, I appreciate your time and thoughtfulness.
