Re: Should I stay or should I go?
Oh Boglehead hive mind, what is your advice? Should I stay or should I go? Looking at this from a financial perspective you do not appear to 'need to' return (based upon your assets). But, there are things that 'can be' more important than money once money is no longer an important concern (such as...

as far as a brand, I have had great success with Denon. as far as selecting which 'model' of any brand to buy: determine how much 'power' you need to drive the speakers you have; determine the type and number of connections (ex: HDMI); and how much you want to spend ($$$). look for pages like this t...

some great advice in this thread; no need to repeat it.
one thing i would add/emphasize is to prepare yourself for the potential 'emotional impact' of going through these items and finding 'something' that triggers a memory.

It is proverbial in this forum that everyone should be prepared to expect a -50% market drop at any time , and that few long-term investors will escape having one occur in their investing lifetime. So "urgent" warnings about a -50% drop are only valuable in reminding us that such a drop c...

if you can create one and use one, there is no strong reason not do to so.
like anything we do to prevent being a potential victim of a crime, the intent is to make things as difficult as possible for the criminal (within reason).

if you want to move your AA to 50/50, that is a relatively good place to be; provides some degree of safety (in bonds), and capability for growth (in stocks). perhaps consider an intermediate AA move from 70/30 to 60/40 and see if that addresses your risk tolerance concerns. no matter where you even...
