Re: State taxes for pilot
It depends on whether or not more than 50% of your flight time is within Illinois. I imagine most of your layovers are in another state. If you just did day trips or sim instruction, then you would probably meet the requirement and need to file Illinois taxes. I don’t see any issues. I have been liv...

I have a car that I use for commuting to work. It is paid off and I will drive it as long as possible. I also have a newer truck that is my normal vehicle. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second at buying a 35K truck for only 5K. That is incredible. Worse case is that you sell it down the road if you deci...

Called Amex and they gave me 50K points for keeping it another year. I value those at $500 so it's a wash. With the paypal ($360/yr), i'm coming out ahead. Not a fan of the uber eats as we don't use it ouside of the amex credit. Uber increases prices, so basically feel it's actually worth about $7,...

So far, I am seeing about $750 in credits that I will easily use this year. Hopefully, Amex keeps adding more which more than covers the annual fee. So anytime I stay at a Hilton (free breakfast) or use an airport lounge then it just keeps justifying itself. Amex seems to have been good about making...
